About the Creator

Hi there, I'm Haley Thomas!  I am a sophomore WRTC major and Music Industry minor, and I will be applying to SMAD with a concentration in Journalism in January. 

I've been singing, songwriting, and playing instruments (ukulele is my favorite!) for as long as I can remember; music is what defines me.  When I came to James Madison University in 2019, my passion for music only grew.  I began performing at weekly open mic nights and sharing my music with as many people as I could, and in doing so, I met countless immensely talented students who deserve for their voices to be heard.

I created JMUnderground to promote the incredible musicians of JMU, from current dukes, to alumni, to faculty and staff!  I also believe that a sense of community is necessary in order for us all to keep moving forward, especially during the strange and scary times we live in today.  I hope JMUnderground can be a safe place for you, and please, never hesitate to reach out with any feedback!
